The Club for Growth has released their "Pork Report" on the voting record of the U.S. Senate, and how well each senator ranks on their anti-pork agenda.
The criteria is the voting record on 15 anti-pork bills.
Only 4 senators have "perfect" anti-pork records, and only 3 of them were present for the majority of the votes.
Here are some notable rankings on the Pork Report (mostly presidential candidates):
- John McCain (R-AZ) - 100%, but was only present for 2 of the votes.
- Sam Brownback (R-KS) - 8/10
- Russ Feingold (D-WI) - The highest ranked democrat with 12/15. The next highest democrat is McCaskill at 6/15
- Barack Obama - 2/6
- Joe Biden - 1/6
- Hillary Clinton - 1/9
And here's an article from The Democratic Party website: Democrats Ending Republican Reign of Pork Barrel Spending Sprees.
For more details, check out the report on the Club for Growth site. There's also a report on the House, which includes 50 anti-pork bills.
